Just above the treeline, a flickering
rises, like the tree is sprouting quickly
disappearing new shoots. And of course I
know in reality these shimmering
shoots do not contribute positively
to the life of that wonderful tree. Why
do I still feel joy seeing shiny shoots? For every revolution won there are
stories of enormous loss, leaves and roots,
edited out of all history's books.
And this loss fills all the crannies and nooks
with seeds of what can be another war.Time will move on, evolution sustained,
on history's shoulders, future is gained.
An interesting week. On Monday I visited a beautiful estate that once was the home of a king's sister, who finally lost her life in the revolution of which on Wednesday was celebrated widely in France. It reminded me of how each revolution comes with bloodshed and loss that is often forgotten in history books, but can lead to discord later on.
When I saw the celebratory fireworks on that Wednesday, I was happy. I like watching fireworks. Even though I know it's better for us, and future generations, if we not use it anymore. It's our current important revolution. The one where we exchange our hedonism for the hedonism of our children. We must, but we need to be able to deal with our losses in such a way that we don't feel we got robbed. We are not getting robbed, but too many of our generations still think we are. Even though what is happening now, is that we are robbing our children. That, will bite us later.
Anyway, fireworks above trees (like in the picture above), revolution, and a beautiful estate.
How was your week?
