Spring is here
I feel it in my nose
and can see it in the bright colours:
yellows, purples, whites - new
life ignites.
It still is winter in the Northern Hemsphere, but not for much longer. Clearly, spring is coming. You can see it everywhere you look. You can smell it. You can tell by the little tingle in your nose if you are, like me, allergic to pollen. Before the temperatures really start rising here, there is always an explosion of colours. The greens are coming back in the trees, and everywhere you look the croci and daffodils are brightening up the world with yellows and purples. I don’t really mind the winter, but this always brings a smile to my face. And a certain song gets stuck in my head. It’s actually quite a sad song, but the reference to daffodils and the melody - and that voice ! - make me feel very spring-y and alive.
What’s your spring song?

Something to listen to
Well, let’s start with this. The video of that Daffodil song that gets stuck in my head every spring. And I love it.

Poetry elsewhere
This is maybe not the best poem you will ever read, but it packs a punch. The defiance of the poet is strong and I hope it inspires those who can use it. Read Glitter in my rainbow.
Living a nomadic life is not so much about leaving your comfort zone, as finding it wherever you are. That’s what I realized when I read this poem from another nomadic poet, back home on east coast at should know better age.
Treasure hunting in second hand books, finding poetry. That is what A.C. Myers did, and shared in Objet Trouvé.
There’s a bit of a joke here in Finland that there are at least 3 false springs before actual spring 😅 and it’s pretty much true. We can get snow still in May! But I’m noticing the days getting lighter, a real bonus 🌷
