Dead wood
We're looking at starting again in this issue #185 of your weekly poetry booster shot.
This dead wood
is teeming with life; once
lush branches sprouting leaves - habitat
of crawlers now, bottom
of foodchain.
Parks are inspiring this time of year. Even if only for the dead branches of trees being stacked in strategic places to form habitats for insects, fungi and invertebrates necessary for a healthy ecosystem and that important base of our food chain.
