Earlier this week I was in a call organised by OpenIDEO in which they reported back on their crisis communication challenge. The biggest take away I had from that was that now tonal truth is what matters. It’s not just what you say, but also how you say it. For me, I try as much as I can to focus on the tone of kindness. And many people and organisations around the globe make that rather easy. Because especially in these times, we see that Kindness Rules.

Coffee and cola
When I lived near DĂ¼sseldorf, I could often be found at Die Kaffee, a small independent coffee roaster and cafe. Great coffee, great wifi, great staff. I loved that place. I remember when they were doing a fundraiser for a homeless frequent visitor, who was robbed of his money. Just one expression of their commitment to the community. Now, they are showing it again, by donating coffee to the local university hospital staff. And they're not alone. Cult brand Fitz Kola (another of my German favorites) donated a truckload of cola. A great lead to follow, because, well, kindness rules.

Somebody to talk to
Have you ever been to Crete? That Greek island? In the north-western part is a village called Tavronitis. On the outskirts sits a beautiful house with a beautiful garden. The house is a shop-cum-factory of wonderful care products and cosmetics. Organic ingredients, hand-picked herbs, hand-made soap. It's a small operation with a big impact. In these times, they turn from care for your outside to care for your insides. In their newsletter, they simply said: if you need somebody to talk to, we are here. Mother and daughter. How amazing is that? So, if you need somebody to talk to, follow them on social media, and dm them. Or maybe you feel more comfortable with a more familiar face. In that case, you know where to find me. For a good soap to clean your hands: visit Fisika Shop.
Innovation Also Rules
Whether it is a company repurposing welding respirators and diving masks to become protective gear for medical staff, or a startup using their IoT-based facility management platform to help businesses distribute employees over available workspaces in a safe way, the business community has shown that humanity has the innovative power to find the safe answers to the challenges posed by this crisis.

Poetry Entertains
It's podcast time again, in this section, as I released episode 4 of my poetry podcast Tripple Effect today. Listen to it here anchor.fm/trippleeffect.
Inspotainment
Ever seen one of these chain reaction machines? You know what I mean, the one's where one thing triggers another and then another and so on? I love them. This one is brilliant. Enjoy.
