Dear Friends,
West of Paris is a great place to live. We have the Seine meandering towards the Atlantic in beautiful bends, and extensive forests and parks and rolling hills where rurality and metropolitanity meet. A very inspiring environment, no wonder so many artists have come to live here, in the land of Seine and Oise, for centuries. But the area has also brought forth some leading creatives. Like the classical music innovator Claude Debussy. He was born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. In the picture, a statue as can be seen in the center of that town.
Listen below to one of his most performed pieces, Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune in a performance by the Concertgebouworkest.
Have a musical day. What are you going to listen to (after Debussy)?
Salutations!
