A lieu-dit in France is a geographical location with a name. It can be just an empty space or a collection of houses not enough to constitute an organisational entity in governing terms. The lieu-dit is a place that exists, a place where local history is very much alive. It’s a place that nobody outside a circle of a certain radius knows about. It’s small. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t matter. It does. The world is made of small building blocks like this. The small things matter. That’s what I tried to catch in this poem.
Piątek is Polish for Friday. So, Poetry Piątek means Poetry Friday. This is #7. If you like it, share it.
