Sunbathing swans,
mirrored in the water
that separates us. Still, they believe
it necessary to
scare us off.
Many swans call the Green Heart of Holland their home. Just like we did for the last couple of years. On our walks - more frequent now that we have a little dog in the family - we see many of them. Often in their regular place. What I learned in the time we spent here, is that they make a hissing sound if you come too close. A warning, not unlike cats do. I like it. And even if there’s a ditch separating them from us, they will fire off their warning signals.
So we move on.
