The mountain stream that connects land and sea. A poem inspired by a lovely mountain stream near La Tzoumaz in Switzerland.
So, I’ve been watching this new series on Netflix, and it’s amazing. The host, Latif Nasser, is this happy, energetic guy that takes you on a journey exploring some of the unlikely and unseen connections that tie us together on this wonderful planet. From dust to digits to… (I can’t resist) poop. And beyond. Apart from finding crazy connections like Benford’s law, and how clouds need the cloud, the series shows in every episode how deeply we are connected around the globe. As humans to humans, but also as humans to our planet and everything on it. It’s wonderful to see these connections, and showing them really is a great way to incubate empathy. So, if you have a Netflix account, go watch this.
Connect Your Poetry Competition
As you know, I write poetry. This summer I started a new form of vandalism, err, beautification. I am dropping my poetry all over the planet. Well, to the places I’ve been to. Not by spraypainting words on walls, but through photos uploaded on Google maps, like this one of the Pont de Normandie. Some of the poems I’ve already shared here. Through these poems, I want to share what I see when I look at the world. Not to convince people my point of view is the best point of view, but to add my voice to all the wonderful voices out there. To show that everybody has a unique view and that by seeing what the other sees, we are strengthening our connections and incubating empathy. So, here’s the challenge. Look at the world around you. Take a picture and write a poem. Leave that on the right spot on Google Maps and share the link. Or post it anywhere else you like and share the link to it. Here, or in the comments of the related post in the Tripple Effect Medium publication. Competition ends on 26 September. From all entries, one winner will receive a Rockbook notebook. A selection of entries will be promoted on Medium and here, and all entries will be reshared via our Twitter account @tritriplicata.
