Many many studies have shown the negative mental and emotional effects of our use of rapidly-evolving technology, especially on young folks. What effect will the increasing use of AI have on mental and emotional health?

That is a very good question, and I think one that deserves a lot of our attention. I'm not sure what the effect of AI will be, but I think it can be a bit positive, but will lead to a lot of negative impact on emotions. Whether that is justified or not. I see a lot of nonsense being posited about AI that will lead to an increase in unhealthy emotional responses. And probably it will lead to a lot of anxiety. I am not an expert, but I do think it should be something we all should be aware of and we all should carry a responsibility to care for our friends. And that latter part is something that I see a lot in the parts of Web3 culture where I hang out. There's a lot of attention for mental health, a lot of open discussion, and a lot of people who say they struggle, also do feel supported.

But, again, I am in no way an expert, and I hope we can all contribute to ensuring there is a system of care in place.

Yes, I worry about the advocates who think of AI in utopian terms. Utopians of any kind scare me!

I understand that. That is why I like to dive in, explore, and figure out how I can use it in the best possible way for me and all the other humans. And there are pitfalls, but also opportunities. Dabbling with it helps to get a grip of that.

You make this very attractive. Have you tried the Cent Pages Collect button? I wonder if it would work with Substack?

Thank you so much, Allen. That's a big compliment.

No, I haven't tried the Cent Pages button. I'm not using Cent Pages. Yet. But it would be an interesting experiment.
