Agree ! Bitcoin’s just getting started. Not a minute too soon either. And that’s only part of it... I haven’t seen your “onchain poetry” but would love to learn more. Are you using blockchain mainly to establish and persist origin and provenance of the written word?

Hi Reena, thank you for reading and engaging. Much appreciated.

My onchain poetry is similar to the poetry I share here. Only it's on a different platform. For me, using blockchain technology to publish poetry is mostly about exploring new technology and "the culture". I like how the community that's emerging around Web3 art can be very kind and supportive. I like to mingle in those crowds (and try to steer away from the more toxic groups that unfortunately also are there, as anywhere else).

For me personally, the issue of provenance is not a deciding factor. I do not have the capability to track plagiarism of my words on a global level, nor will I be able to bring lawsuits against anyone using my words. Having said that, there is a certain appeal of having an immutable proof that is decentrally maintained of the origin of the work. Especially with AI models gaining usage fast, that can be essential.

Also, if I look at poets like Sasha Stiles, who present their poetry pieces as fine art, the blockchain technology is enabling them to get good prices for their pieces. Her most recent auction, in the Gucci Art Space gallery, saw a winning bid of 3 ETH, which is at today's rate over 6000 Euro. For one poem!

Also, as for art and other usefulness, I am personally more interested in chains that have smart contracts built in, such as Ethereum, Tezos and Solana. Bitcoin is still mostly about value exchange through currency trading. On top, despite the promising technological developments in terms of energy usage, Bitcoin is still a proof-of-work based chain. The sustainability factor of the proof-of-stake model makes me more interested in the other chains as well.

Awesome! Very cool about the poetry. Thanks for that. Makes sense. The good thing is with blockchain hopefully lawsuits will be less necessary since the "evidence" will be readily available. But let's see how it evolves. Agree Bitcoin is really about inflation management which unfortunately is getting more real. My own sense is the proof-of-work energy reqs will evolve too with tech improvements (on the energy usage side) but all remains to be seen... Keep us posted on your journey. It's incredibly interesting. GOOD LUCK!!!
