The otters
huddle close together,
sleeping while the park bustles with life.
The people own it, now.
But at night...
Wildlife. It can be so surprising when you find it in urban areas. Surprising and beautiful. We just moved to a town close to Paris. It’s what they call in France a “parc ville”, or a park town. So, we have a lot of green space around us, and several lakes and canals. At first, I hadn’t noticed anything other than ducks and a swan on the lake in the park. Then, I heard something in the water at night while walking the dog. I couldn’t really see what it was in the dark, but something was swimming in the lake and it wasn’t alone. It also wasn’t a duck. It was a little tribe of otters.
What’s the wildlife like where you live?

That is just lovely! I love otters! They seem so playful. I grew up with echidnas, kangaroos, cockatoos, galahs, pelicans, and a myriad of other lovely birds & critters (including rather large spiders which were, frankly, quite hideous!) Here, in the north, we have lots of birds, and I saw my first elk a few months ago! I am yet to spot a hedgehog. They're cute! I hope you've settled into your new home :)
